THIRTEEN REASONS WHY

I dont know if you want to call this particular incident controversial or not, but during time Hannah was attending Mrs. Bradley's class Peer Communications, she actually dropped o note in her bag about someone possibly thinking about suicide ! How do you send out papers to your students on the warning signs of suicide and don't pay attention to the one's around you ? It was obvious that someone in the class wrote the note , so to not pay attention to your students was a huge over sight by Mrs. Bradley. But that takes me back to my earlier post when Hannah was feeling like noone even notices her so why stay in a world where noone even knows you exist. If you say or print something, then you should live by your own words. Mrs. Bradley passed out those handouts to tell her students what to look for , pertaining to suicide in a individual, but she didnt look for it. I think that helped to push Hannah over the edge . No Mrs. Bradley is not the blame for Hannah's death, but do you see where she fits in with all of this. I am noat taking sides but you do have to be realistic and look at that particular seen, Hannah was sitting right there in her face and even cut her hair, and left note, and not Mrs. Bradley or any of the students in her class noticed her drastic change. That is something to really think about. I am almost finshed with this book, so i will be entering another post soon. I cant wait to find out what the ultimate reason for Hannah committing suicide.

THIRTEEN REASONS WHY

I want to talk about Hannah Baker. I dont know if i would call it praise for what she is doing, but i do like the idea that she is letting her peers know that the things they said or did affected her. Hannah tells us what happened to take her to that point. Her peers said and did awful things. I am reading this book and i am being open minded, meaning im not judging anyone. I definetly don't think Hannana should be criticized, after all, she was the victim. I do not want to sound harsh, but if you read about the things people did to her, she was victimized. The way i see it, Hannah felt she had noone to turn to,everyone she trusted betrayed her trust. She never had a true friend, she really went day-to-day alone. Hannah appeared to have withdrawn into a world of her own, being on the inside , looking out. How does it feel to go around people every day, and noone notices that there is something wrong, your parents don't even notice ? Well' Hannah let's us know how it feels, because this is what happened to her. I guess she felt why should she exist in a world, that doesnt even know she exists. Have you ever felt like that ? I am learning a lot from this story, it has even made me re-live some of my high school days, some very tough days. Again , i won't say i praise Hannah for letting her peers know that they are for the most part the reason for her act, but i am glad she let them know, because maybe they will think twice before they do or say something hurtful to someone else. I can't wait to finish this book, i am so curious to what was the final insult, incident or whatever, that caused Hannah to go through with this.

THIRTEEN REASONS WHY

  1. READING THE AUTHOR'S NOTES AND INTERVIEW, GAVE ME THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE TITLE. JAY ASHER GOT THE IDEA TO WRITE THIS BOOK WHILE AT A MUSEUM . WHILE THERE TAKING A TOUR, EACH VISITOR WAS GIVEN A TAPE RECORDER TO LISTEN TO. WHILE STANDING IN FRONT OF THE DISPLAY, YOU PUSHED PLAY AND THE NARRATOR STARTED TALKING, THAT'S WHERE THE IDEA FOR THE TAPE CASSETTES CAME IN. MR. ASHER HAD A COUSIN, WHO ATTEMPTED SUICIDE, AND WAS THE SAME AGE AS HANNAH, IN HIS BOOK. HE TALKED TO HER ABOUT THE INCIDENT OVER THE YEARS AND SHE COULD NEVER TALK ABOUT ONE SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCE WITHOUT TELLING WHAT PRECEDED IT OR FOLLOWED IT. THE CHARACTER'S LAST NAME IS BAKER, AND A BAKERS DOZEN IS THIRTEEN, THE TITLE WAS BAKER'S DOZEN: THE AUDIO BIOGRAPHY OF HANNAH BAKER, WHEN THE BOOK WAS SOLD. I PERSONALLY LIKE THE TITLE "THIRTEEN REASONS WHY " BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU WONDER ABOUT THE REASONS . I'M SURE BY THE TIME I FINISH READING THIS BOOK, IT WILL BE EVERYTHING I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. I LIKE THE IDEAS THE AUTHOR USED, FOR EXAMPLE, THE TOWN, HE PUT AN ILLUSTRATION OF THE TOWN IN THE BOOK. I LIKE TO REALLY GET INTO A BOOK, YOU KNOW , FEEL AS IF I AM REALLY THERE. MR. ASHER HAS MADE THIS POSSIBLE BY THE ILLUSTRATIONS AND THE DESCRIPTIVE DETAILS IN THIS BOOK. I AM BEGINNING TO GET A FEEL FOR THE STORY . WE SHALL SEE IF IT IS AS GOOD AS IT SEEMS.

THIRTEEN REASONS WHY

I AM A LITTLE ANXIOUS TO READ THIS BOOK, BECAUSE I KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS READ IT, AND THEY SAID IT IS EXCELLENT. I ENJOY READING A GOOD BOOK AND I AM ANTICIPATING THAT THIS BOOK FALLS IN THAT CATERGORY. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED AS I READ THIS BOOK, HOPING THAT IT MEETS MY EXPECTATIONS. ALSO, I WANTED TO ADD, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD BOOK TO READ (LADIES), READ WAITING TO EXHALE, IT IS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE, EACH CHARACTER IS DIFFERENT. I REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK.
